HIEHIE HYGIENE OUTREACH

Providing 7,000+ hot showers every year

Project Vision Hawaii’s Hiehie Hygiene Outreach program is dedicated to promoting health, dignity, and well-being for underserved communities across the Hawaiian Islands. Hiehie, which means "to adorn or beautify" in Hawaiian, reflects our commitment to providing access to essential hygiene services that help individuals look and feel their best. Through this program, we offer mobile hygiene units equipped with showers, restrooms, and hygiene supplies to those who need them most, including individuals experiencing homelessness, low-income families, and communities in remote areas.

Our mobile units travel to various locations, creating a welcoming and safe space where individuals can maintain their hygiene with dignity and privacy. The Hiehie Hygiene Outreach program goes beyond just offering showers; it also serves as a point of connection to additional resources such as medical care, social services, housing assistance, and health education. By partnering with local organizations and agencies, we ensure that each person we serve has access to the tools and support they need to work toward a healthier, more stable life.

At Project Vision Hawaii, we believe that access to hygiene is a fundamental human right. The Hiehie Hygiene Outreach program is part of our broader mission to reduce health disparities in Hawai'i, one shower at a time. Our goal is to empower individuals and uplift communities by addressing not just the immediate needs of hygiene but also fostering a sense of self-worth and belonging. We invite you to join us in this effort, whether by volunteering your time, donating supplies, or supporting our mission through a financial contribution. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who need it most.
